Consistency Is Key

Unfortunately I am not very consistent...... yet. I have breakfast, snack and dinner pics for you but since I went to lunch with my mom and Aunt I totally forgot my camera. It was a delicious and portion correct lunch. I drank lemon water. Had a small cup of crab bisque and a small garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette on the side. It was quite tasty.
But before that I had a very filling breakfast:

My favorite. :) Kath at KERF loves oatmeal. I love peanut butter and bananas.

Don't you just want a little taste?

Because my lunch was a little on the light side I was definitely ready for an afternoon snack around 3pm. I had to have my Babybels again and some more of those amazing sesame sticks and some good ole sweat tea.

Here's a closer look.
Once I finished with my afternoon clients and redecorating my office a little I was oh so looking forward to dinner. I picked up a new steamer veggie and couldn't wait to try it.

Here it is on top of my ugly Formica kitchen counters. I have to say that they weren't bad but I may have over steamed them cause they were kinda mushy. But boy were they sweet.

I also baked a small chicken breast in a tbls of olive oil and a tsp of herbs de provence. I have been trying to eat most of my meals on salad plates to fool my over eager eyeballs. Seems to be working.

I was craving a baked potato (must need more potassium) so that wound up on the menu as well. I added a little butter, some fat free sour cream, sea salt and pepper.
I didn't make it to the gym today but did manage to stay busy with clients and plenty of apartment cleaning and organizing. I must have slept really well last night because I had tons of energy today.
Tomorrow is a day full of clients and more cleaning. I have some friends coming into town to see a play that my roommate and good friend, Adrienne is in. It should be a weekend of fun, wine and lots of laughter. I may not have time to update until Sunday night but I sure will try.
Tootle-loo!

Gym, Chix-fil-a and LOST

Whew!! Bodyjam was so much fun tonight. They had all these new dance routines and I had the best time. My ears are still ringing because of the loud music. Good lord, do I feel old saying that. Those darn whippersnappers and their high falutin rock-n roll music!
Anywho, since the class was so intense and so good I quickly became a sweat beast and was in desperate need of a shower. So dinner had to wait until 8:45pm. Never fear, Chix-fil-a was there!

Their amazing chix-n-strips garden salad with croutons, sunflower seeds and fat free honey mustard dressing. Soooo filling.

And of course I had to have some sweet tea with it. :) What's Chix-fil-a without sweat tea? Only instead of ordering theirs I had some that I had made two days ago. I feel I can control the sugar better that way.

Now it's time for my favorite show on earth! I was hoping this episode would be about the survivors that they haven't covered this season like Rose and Bernard but nooooo... it's a dang recap show... AGAIN! Ahh well, I'm still getting my fix. :0)

Good night!

There's a Wicked Nor' Easta Blowin In

I don't know what happened to spring but it got awful blustery out today. Which started me thinking about colder climates like Massachusetts which led me to think about Boston which in turn led me to think about hot southie boys and WHAM I had to have some wicked awesome chowda!

Campbell's wicked awesome 98% fat free chowda to be precise.

Yeah, my pouring skills are not the best (look at the splatter.)

Of course I had to have some more of those delicious Triscuits and sweet tea.

To round it all up an amazingly lovely orange.

So sweet and juicy. Slurp!
The lunch, although delicious in every way, did not last as long as I had hoped and by 5pm (during the middle of a massage) my stomach began to seriously growl. Embarrassing!
So once I got home I immediately set to getting my snack on.

I had to answer the siren song of those amazing chips and salsa. I managed to not dig into them since that day I had them for lunch.... no small feat mind you. I also added to low fat Babybel cheeses for protein.
I think I am ready for my Bodyjam class now. :)

Yes We Have No Bananas....

Well, I wont if I they keep appearing in my food like this

Kashi H2H cereal, skim milk and a banana.

This should hold me for at least 3 hours, not as filling as yesterday's breakfast but delicious none the less. :)

Opps.... a Little Late On Lunch

Yesterday got a little disorganized after breakfast. I have pics of lunch but none of dinner, which is probably good since the best of food choices weren't made since I didn't eat at home. I vaguely remember potato chips and some sort of danish.... it's a little fuzzy.

It was definitely and iced tea kinda day (this one was slightly sweetened with sugar).

I was also craving something crunchy and these were most satisfying.

This is a tiny dessert plate with 7 crackers on it. :)

A simple garden salad mix with light tuna and sesame sticks. Hmmm... I think it needs something......

Perfect!

The perfect balance of fiber, protein, fat and CRUNCH!
Woohoo!!

Going Bananas!

Good morning bloggers! Today I got up bright and early (read: dragged my tired butt out of bed) and headed off to the gym. Got in a great workout and I feel 10 times better. :)

Ate this beauty on my way to the gym. Even though I wasn't hungry yet I wanted to kick start my metabolism by eating within the first 30 minutes of waking.

Once I got back home and took a refreshing shower I was ready for a little hardier substance:

Take one of these and toast it to your preference,

smear with 2 tlbs of this ( or the nut butter of your choice),

slice up one of these and place on our opened faced English muffin,

and then drizzle with this! Swoon!!

This with a multivitamin, the rest of the banana and a full glass of water and you are good to go for at least 4 hours (all that fiber!)

Very filling my friends.
Yesterday it was strawberries, today bananas. I wonder what tomorrow will bring. :)
Later taters!

Round 2 and 3

Lunch was super nummy, nummy num nums! (I know, I make myself sick sometimes.)

I had a small handful of these delicious chips,

dipped into this most loveliest of salsas (sooo good and my first time trying this brand),

then came the turkey, swiss, mayo mustard sandwich,

on this very yummy and super tiny bread ( the above sandwich is on a salad plate).

A little something sweet to round out the meal. 1 cup of strawberries with a few tablespoons of fat free organic vanilla yogurt (Stoneyfield). 1 large glass of water.
Very filling and highly enjoyable.
On to the afternoon snack and dinner..

1/3 cup of sesame sticks and 5 strawberries ( I think I may turn into a strawberry after today).

Such salty goodness!

Strawberry season is finally upon us. :)

After returning home from work, in crazy thunderstorms and tornado watches I finally began to relax enough to enjoy some nosh.

A garden salad to start the meal with creamy french dressing.

*slurp*

Two amazing pieces of cheesy, queasy pizza. Definitely a meal that was a little heavier than I intended but I most definitely got in all of my water today, a nice workout at the gym and plenty of rest the night before. I feel good.... real good. ;)
Till tomorrow!

Test Run

Like so many awesome blogs out there (Kath Eats!) I wanted to try to start documenting my food intake by photo. Well I couldn't have picked a worse day for lighting. It is so rainy/cloudy outside this morning. Eww. However, with my new camera having no natural light doesn't seem to be a problem. Here are the first few amature photos:

1 and 1/4 cups Kashi H2H cereal
1 cup skim milk
4 strawberries
1 glass of water
1 whole food mulitvitamin

Very filling and delicious!

BTW this is the best multivitamin I have ever tried. Since it is made from whole foods the body absorbs it better. Most other multis I have tried have just wound up being expensive urine because there is no absorption. Too much info? :)

I can't promise that I will be able to post every meal in the beginning but I hope to get there soon.

Off to the gym!

Birthday Fun Fun!

Wowza! Where has the time gone? I had the best intentions of blogging the Monday following my bday but somehow time has gotten away from me once again. Can Can was amazing! I think we were there a total of 4 hours eating, drinking and being merry. I didn't over do the food but definitely indulged in the drinky poos. My wonderful friends got together a purchased this amazing gift for me:

I know, right!!! Now I can actually start documenting my food via photographs instead of boring old lists and maybe indulge my inner food blog geek by pretending I can actually create and cook delicious recipes. So far my thirty third year of life has been pretty sweet. :)

Cheers!!

Third Year of the Third Decade's the Charm

This Sunday I turn 33 years old. (sigh) I am really not sure how I feel about that yet. I am intending good things. The number three is my number, always has been. In numerology I am a three, my lucky number is three, I had a pretty good year when I was twenty-three I think.... I really can't remember. So I am thinking that two 3's should bring amazing insight, luck, excitement and happiness. Also, since my birthday falls on Easter this year (a time of rebirth and starting over) it can only be an added blessing.

My super awesome friends are kidnapping me this Saturday and forcing me to enjoy a leisurely lunch at a delicious French restaurant located in a beautiful part of Richmond called Cary Town. Then on Sunday I am heading to my dad's for a birthday/Easter celebration. So needless to say this weekend will be full of wine, delicious food, family and friends. And I have already decided to not feel guilty nor worry about anything other than having a great time.

On a pretty cool note, I weighed myself at the gym on Monday and I am down 4 lbs! I think that is mostly due to Aunt Flow FINALLY leaving town but at this point I will take anything. :) My gym membership ends in October of this year and I wont be renewing. One, it's too far away, Two, it will save me sixty much needed dollars a month and three, it will free me up to take different classes at different studios when I want and can afford to. So while I still have my membership I will be trying to use the heck out of it.

Anyone have any "fresh start" weight loss ideas for Easter?

Once More, With Feeling

Howdy! How is everyone out there in blogger land? Things around here are definitely much brighter. I wish I could report that things were much lighter as well. Maybe next time. :) As you can see I took A LOT of time to think about some things, process others and tried to come to a better understanding of my situation. I had amazing support from friends and family and most surprisingly perfect strangers. I have to say, you ladies and gents out there in cyber space are super duper awesome. Thank you so much for your kind words and wonderful encouragement. It really helped to lift my spirits. :)

I hope to come up with some sort of get back on track plan. It helps that the weather has finally started to warm up so that has given me the push to get back to being active. Walks outside, classes at the gym and hopefully pretty soon some hikes in the woods. I am doing some research on anti-inflammatory diets. They are supposed to be really helpful for massage therapists. And since business is picking up (yay!) I have noticed swelling in my hands and arms. Maybe it could help on two counts.

So here's to starting over ONCE AGAIN and maybe, just maybe some success.
